We are so excited to be hosting the Wine Tours in beautiful southern Indiana. (And of course to keep going back for more tastings) Whatever your taste in wine we think we have something for everyone. Looking forward to seeing everyone at MG2014!

This hostess is ready for another tasty run! The weather is perfect and the roads good. But MG still up on jacks. What is a girl to do? How is your Jag running girlfriend?

We will try to highlight each winery on our trail over the next few weeks. Winzerwald Winery is "The friendly little German-style Winery at the Top of the Hill" and has several wines to our liking. The Gewurztraminer is an aromatic & floral semi-sweet that sirbritmg73.rp and I agree is great even though our taste runs a little more toward the dry whites. Our "red-necked" guys like the Little Rhineland Red, "the sweet red wine lover's favorite". Whatever your favorite, a glass while enjoying the view of the southern Indiana rolling hills is sure to be enjoyable and relaxing. Dan and Donna Adams are sure to make you feel welcome.

Just 30 miles from Winzerwald over perfect hilly, curvy roads made for the MG is Scout Mountain Winery. Situated between Corydon (Indiana's first state capital) and the lazy little town of Leavenworth, Scout Mountain is another of the quaint, unique wineries on our tour. Normally closed on Tuesday they will open their winery just for us the week of the show. They have a light, crisp Chardonel that we like a lot. The *****in Berry Elderberry is a sweet but tart earthy red wine that the guys like. They also have a Buzzard Roost Red which is aged in a bourbon barrel and fortified to 22% alcohol.

The popular Overlook Restaurant is located in Leavenworth and overlooks the Ohio River. It is one of the places featured by MG 2014 and could be a nice break from the wineries if you so choose.

Safety fast!

The trip from Scout Mountain to Turtle Run takes you through historic Corydon, Indiana.
"Tucked away among the rolling hills of sourthern Indiana, there's a place where life moves at a more leisurely pace. This is Indiana's hometown and her First State Capital, Historic Corydon and Harrison County. The natural beauty that captivated the early settlers still remains, from wooded trails and lush forests to rich caves. That same scenic splendor inspired their valiant stand on the stie of Indiana's only Civil War battlefiled" - Harrison County Visitor Guide. Shop on the town square or check out the rich history before you visit Turtle Run. The traminette grape wine made from the "official Indiana" grape is normally a semi-sweet wine but Turtle Run makes a dry wine with this grape that is one of our favorites at this winery. If your taste runs to sweet red you may want to try Red My Mind, Lost My Mind or Blue My Mind. Do I sense a theme here??

Just a short eight miles from Turtle Run is Indian Creek Winery. We liked the Misty Meadow wine and spent some time with owner Mark Kendall. He shared many stories about his winery and experiences and we enjoyed the time spent with him tremendously.

From there it was on to Quibble Hill, the newest of the wineries highlighted on this tour. Try the white or red Sangria while you are here.

We have one more winery to feature before everyone heads to Southern Indiana for MG2014. We have had so much fun putting this tour together and look forward to seeing everyone in beautiful French Lick, Indiana in just a few short weeks.

Less than one week until MG2014. The wine tour we have planned will need to be done on Tuesday as most wineries are closed on Monday and a couple have agreed to open on Tuesday just for us. For anyone wanting to make a run on Monday we will have directions to Huber Winery and Huber Farms. This is a great little run in itself.

The tours are self-guided and you will be able to leave at different times on Tuesday morning.

I have attached a photo of the "British Box" we have put together for the car answering the most questions correctly on our rally sheet.

See you in beautiful French Lick. Safety Fast!

Kelly,

When you arrive and go to the registration/regalia room, Clifton Ballroom, Hotel Event Center, you'll find various tables setup with self-guided tour information and printed routes along with info on things like the hotel tours and other "unscheduled events"
