Here's a picture of one. Do you think you could make it fit?

There is a kit for the base LFX engine for a Miata and a RX8. So the good news is that the engine controls have been tamed. As to getting the thing in the hole, anything is possible with a sawzall and a welding torch. Looks to be an awesome engine.
I would skip the turbos.

It looks pretty
They say it is based on a 350 & 350 have found there way into a few MGs
I maybe would use 2 M90 superchargers instead of turbos (I have had a rear wheel dynoed 490HP 300 zx with 4 wheel steering NO LOW END even with low end nitrous shut of for high RPMs unless manual switch for racing only worked when pedal to the metal)
it looks awesome this V6 does
By the way Jim Stabe as a very young man I saw your MG in a mag so I have played with and built many Rover motors (13 including a 5.8) and am looking at
Pete Aardeema for an overhead cam on a TA performance head.v i have a second P76 block from down under (cost with shipping & customs was over $2000 for 2 blocks)
I had a built 283 in an MGC GT it was fast for its time. I have a Tim Lanocha type TR8 with water cooled inter-cooled water cooled supercharged m112 5.2 Rover and a BRE 240z that needs wiring,
The m112 I need to change I think to a TVS1900
My son is picking out a body for my DZ302 motor with Magnacharger 220 supercharger and full tilt Rhodes cam & lifters we are rebuilding the magnacharger low profile 220 with diamond bearings so there will be no need for lubrication except maybe cooling because changing the sewing machine type oil was a pain.

The OHC V6s are wide engines as well as taller than OHV versions. Those engines are nice - but I'd also advise sticking to the LFX non-turbo version as turbos add considerable packaging challenges. The LFX can motivate a Camaro pretty well so should do a good job on the MG.
I'm not so sure you'd get all you wanted for $4K from a wrecker though......
You can also get the same power and torque out of the turbo 4 cylinder engines, but it would be a bit more expensive as you really need to swap out pistons and rods for anything much over 400 bhp
