Hello, I'm a newbie here.
I bought my first MGB a few weeks ago, a '78, from a club member here in Nova Scotia.
The car is in good shape, just a few things that need attention.
I'm curious about 2 rocker switches that are on the right side of the steering cowl.
They appear to be original from the factory but I have no idea what they are for.
My neighbor is a very experienced MG guy and his wife's 78 has a blank where these switches would be
and he doesn't know what they are for either.
Does anyone know what these are for?
Thanks
Albert

You get to have fun figuring that out.
Stock the car would just have the headlight lever switch on the left side of the column. As in your neighbor's car, the other switch location had a blanking plate, as it was the headlight switch location on the RHD cars. Moss sells an SPST rocker switch that was originally for a Jaguar that is the correct fit for these blanked holes, so fog lights, cooling fan over rides or any other kind of accessory can be switched.

My bet would be some sort of driving lights/fogs that are no longer there.
As Kevin mentioned it'll be a fun hunt trying to figure it out. I bought a '67 ford one where the PO had wired a weird toggle switch next to the steering wheel, I tested and noticed a change in voltage when it was "on" but I never figured out what, if anything it actually did.
Happy hunting!
