Forgive me if this has been answered but I've searched the forums to no avail.

I've got a 62 MkII and I want to add the Shelbys as I have a local line on them but there's a problem with the centerbore on the front axle hub. The Shelbys (and Minilites,) seem to have about a 2.5" center bore and the MkII front hub is between 2.75 to 3". Of course they work fine on the rear drum brakes but what is the solution for the front?

I can't imagine having them all machined to a larger bore size?

Chris

You may want to look at the wheel stud holes. A lot of alloy wheels are designed to be hub piloted not stud piloted. If the wheels were designed for a different car the 2.5" bore could have been designed to have a precision fit on the intended car's hub. Those wheels have straight lug nut holes and use lug nuts with a washer. If the wheels use tapered lug nuts you will be fine with hogging out the bore of the wheel. Using hub piloted wheels with out a proper hub fit, you will be chasing loose wheels since there is no good way to keep the wheels firmly in place.

My after market steel disc racing wheels had issues. I just ground out the center hole.
