Hi all,

While preparing to replace the rear spring bushings and pads, I notice that my rear springs are attached
with the bolt to rear and the shackle forward. Haynes shows the opposite attachment. Is this the reason
my rear end is 1" higher than the front?
Do the springs have a front and back or are they symmetrical ?

Should I correct this while I have everything apart ?
or doesn't it make a difference.

TIA,
Ray

Shackle at the rear. Bolt at the front through a large bushing; either rubber or poly.

I'm curious to see how your springs are mounted as you describe. Photos?

Must give some strange roadholding reactions, the bolt should definitely be up front. How on earth is a bolt inserted at the back, maybe the PO put another type in?
Since this original bolt up front is special one, be sure to order it and its nut in advance before correcting this mistake. And doublecheck the available shackle parts as well eye rolling smiley

OOOoooops

In taking the photos I realized that I had misinterpreted what I saw.
The shackle is at the rear and the bolt forward.

So Sorry !

Ray,
Re read the instructions a couple of more times to familiarize your self with what you are about to undertake.
The spring assembly can only be installed one way. Assemble all the fasteners loosely then lower the car the ground prior to tightening the rear & front bushes.

Support the car well while you are under there

The front bushing has a steel jacket. When you push the bushing out, make sure you get the jacket too.
