For the past month or so my daughter has been in Prague attending a puppet making workshop. The workshop consisted of designing, carving, painting and constructing a marionette. It wrapped up with several performances at a local theater festival
Here's some pictures of Dorothy's marionette during the building process:
A group photo of the marionettes built at the workshop
Yesterday Dorothy and some of the others from the workshop took their puppets to the famous Karlove Moste bridge and walked them across. She said so many pictures were taken of them they started to have them interact with people. It was going so well they did a couple of impromptu performances. She said they were pretty bad but the people loved them so they put out a hat and everyone gave them money. They didn't make a lot but there was enough to buy a round of beers for themselves.
Here's a link to video of the performances and of Dorothy's puppet making a friend:

Here's video of their show, Pozoor Vllk ( Watch Out For the Wolf).
Kind of long but the best parts for me:
1:35 - 1:41 Dorothy's puppet wakes up.
3:32 - 4:22 The puppets all say good morning to the audience. Dorothy's puppet plays leap frog with another puppet and gets launched off the see-saw.
8:29 - 9:12 Three of the puppets embark on a long journey. The scenery is passed by them as they walk in place to give the illusion of forward movement.
