well I'm trying to get the skinny on the frame and haven't found anything in a search.
The first bow from header has the strap on it that goes to rearmost bow the bracket has a pin that sticks up I'm guessing to stop bar from over traveling?
Does the bow go in front of the pin or behind it??
I found a bent bracket on rh side so I know why one is one way and one is the other. Idk what one is correct since most of the old top was gone
If I put the bow behind the pin it allows the rearmost bow to fold clear down.
if I put it in front of pin the rear bow will be tough to get material from top cemented around the bow.
Since idk what way it has to go and don't know really what it's spose to be when folded up I need help.
The pic would be with the bow in front of pin. Is that right or does it go on the other side of pin?
Any help is appreciated
Bill

Ok I have the rear snaps on and cemented the loop around the rear bow.
As u can see in pic the seam on top at rear bow is just behind the bow and not along the top of the bow.
I also have very little overhang at front header bow.
I'm going to pull car outside tomorrow so it will warm top. I'm hoping that will allow the stretch I need?
It needs to go like an inch so the rear seam will be on top of the bow.
I hear it will work once warm and I'm spot on so far.

Bill,
From the first picture of your frame, it looks to me like you don't have the correct frame.
The top install pictures also don't look right.
Can you post some pictures of the top frame itself. Side mounts, etc.
Also. more info would be helpful. What year top from Robbins did you buy!

If that is a 68 scissor style frame which is usually grey then you will need to loosen the rear bow from the fabric. You need to stretch the canvas forward with the rear bow loose, fasten it to the header rail, and then force the rear bow back in place and glue it.
Good luck making a Robbins top decently fit that style of rack. They are a little stingy with the material both length and width to properly cover the header rail.

68b
Black stay in folding top. Purchased 3 solid window top for 68 b. Rdstr
It's not all on in front or stretched yet I just have the rear fasteners on and the loop in rear bow cemented. I pulled frame forward and latched it but noticed I can't get the seam to be on top of rear bow.
I can pull the sag out of the rear when I pull in front of top just not enough to lap over header bar and under the seal channel.
Was told that if it was in the sun and warmed up it will stretch more so that's what I'm hoping.
I even tried to fold too back to spin the seam up on top if the bar but when I tried to latch top there was no way I could hold the seam on the top of the rear bow and latch top I was afraid I would rip the top.
Again told that itlol work once top is warmer
The old top didn't have the rain gutter on it like the new one but top on car was same as this one cept for that.
Here's a pic of frame and the inside at the rear bow.

Well crap. So I needed a different style top then? I thought the grey frame was the stow away 2 pc. Sighs.
Yes stingy covers the lack of extra material. However there was an extra pc of material with the new top. No clue wat that's about.

Rear bow is cemented last.
As someone said. Get the top stretched to the head rail then "force" the rear bow back to further stretch the top.
In fact I haven't cemented mine yet.

Awe man. How am I to get that undone after a day of curing?
He said his rear bow wasn't glued at all it makes it easier to latch top he just has to manually put the rear bow in the correct place once top is up and latched.
Also hearing putting top up and down involves a lot of folding and swearing lol

True about difficulty storing the top with the bow not glued. I will glue it as soon as it has had time to "stretch."
