After modifying the right front fender of my Sprite last fall with the help of a tasty deer, I decided to upgrade to halogen headlights and took advantage of the kit with relay harness that Vicky Brit offered. When I spread everything out on the floor to plan the install, I was rather shocked at the amount of wiring included with the relay harness. I understand that they want to make this painless for an easy install, but there would have been so much extra copper that my car would have been a target for theft. Out with the dykes, some good 3M tape and a couple adult beverages. I hit up the relay drivers using the wires to the dimmer and ran the outputs back through the original harness to the headlights. I mounted the relays in the passenger compartment against the engine/tranny firewall and I'm happy with the result. I still only have "one eye" because the body work is not complete, but at least I'll be able to see the next deer that's looking for a free ride. Pictures are of what I trimmed from the original harness, what my modified harness looks like, the relays in place and the under bonnet connections. I was fortunate to have an old harness to secure some connectors from.

Tim

Edit: No smoke was lost when cutting this Lucas harness.

I put the relay's under the front cross piece that the hood latch is on. Got rid of a lot of unnecessary wiring and took the hot lead directly from the back of the alternator.
