The bolt on wire wheels on my 73B are pretty much shot. I'm thinking about doing a knock off wire wheel conversion.

Is Moss the only source for the conversion kit or do others make and sell these as well? I'd rather do the conversion kit then have to deal with an axle swap.

Thanks,
BH

Chris Roop on here is a Moss distributor with good prices and service. They are also available from UK suppliers, and likely others in the US as well.

I went the moss knock off conversion route about twelve years ago and am very happy. My car was a rostyle wheel, tube type rear end. After the conversion, everything looks "factory original" and FWIT, I run minator minilites and they look awesome IMO.

Unfortunately, few people today even know what a knock off is. They either think the bolts holding the wheel together hold it to the car or think you are talking about a cheap copy of something from asia... very sad, indeed. When you show them the Thor hammer, they start to get the idea.

Personally I would not spend the money to go to a knock off style wheel. The conversion isn't that hard, but it would be very expensive when you consider the cost of 4 hubs and four wheels.

Honestly, if it were in my budget I would convert my WW car to bolt on as my wires are getting to the end of their life and I really can't see spending so much money on new hubs and wheels.

Did my conversion with the help of Dayton Wire Wheels in Dayton, Ohio. Very picky people which helped me get comfortable using them. not sure if they were expensive or not as these were the only folks I talked to that came across interested making sure it was what I wanted.
