Does anyone know if Jerry Felper at British Auto Electric in Anaheim is still taking on work?

I sent him an email, but haven’t seen a response. He usually responds very quickly.

I know Jerry is at least in his 70’s, so wondering if he’s still at it?

He's still around and active with M.G.s. Usually phone works faster than email.

Thanks guys, I’ll give him some more time to respond to the email, and then give him a call.

Does anyone else feel an anxiety these days about more and more of our specialist suppliers reaching an age where they might just pack it in one day?

I’ve actually found myself buying parts lately that I won’t need for a while, because I’m afraid the guy might be retired when I actually do need it.

YES! 90% of my machine shops are gone, because the owners passed away and no one wanted to take over. Especially with the early cars (pre-war through TC) a lot of the specialists are retiring and passing on. There are younger guys taking over, but their prices are much higher for the same service and parts. It's a real problem, in fact probably the most serious problem we face in the hobby today. We are fortunate to have Moss for the newer cars (TD through B), as without them we'd be up a certain creek without a manually operated hydro-acceleration device.

Same here.

Hey Ben if you can't reach Jerry let me know I have a shop around the corner that knows "Lucas", maybe not as much as my long time friend Jerry smiling smiley, but he does good work.

Thanks Chris,

Jerry got back to me today, and the starter is already on its way.
