I saw one of these on ebay for a great price but am wondering if anyone here has some firsthand knowledge/experience with them? My car, as much as I love it, isn't worth a Moto-Lita wheel. Not yet anyhow.
These look like they have a bit of a dish to them as well.

Hi Scott,
It appears to be the same "Springalex" brand that I installed on my GT. I've had it for a few years now and am generally satisfied with it. My only comments are that with the slight dish to it, on my 1969 at least, the distance to the stalk controls are slightly increased and now a bit of a stretch to change from high to low beams. Also the covering on it seems to be getting lighter either due to wear (15,000+ miles), or perhaps sun exposure (3 1/2+ years), but it's no longer the rich black it originally was.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Rick

I've got one on my car. Not the most refined wheel, but good value for the money.

TRF Moto-Lita on sale 'til next week - http://trf.zeni.net/micro4/index.php?menu=&page=3
I really like these but since my original steering wheels are still in such great shape I can't justify the cost or change.

I have one of these wheels installed, it is dished slightly which helps. With my Miata seats the wheel just touches my right knee when I switch from gas pedal to brake pedal. I had a spacer machined from some aluminum round bar, it raised the wheel by 7/8" and gave me clearance. I painted it matt black and it looks like its supposed to be there. You can buy it from the McMaster-Carr online catalog.

Before going through Ebay check out Leacy. I bought an identical looking wheel from Leacy Classics in the UK. They had several to choose from and mine is very good quality, real leather, the hub fit great, etc. Great deals and they have free shipping for many items to the US. I think my total for the hub and wheel was under $100 shipped. Only issue is figuring out how to wire the horn push since the aftermarket hubs are not set up for plug and play. I went with the 14" and it greatly improved my driving position, my right leg is no longer always canted right. I can put it anywhere I want and still hit all the pedals without interference form the wheel. Low speed steering force took a small hit but nothing out of sorts. The slight dish does change the distance to the stalks but I got used to it quickly.
