Lately everything I touch turns to a browner shade of gold and the $ are adding up :-(
First the ebrake switch, then the brand new (poor quality) courtesy light and this morning while trying to fit windscreen to car, I cracked it.
New windscreen and seal in Australia=$250.
Sometimes I feel like throwing in the spanner.
Note- when using ratchet method to fit screen, do both sides at same time.

I can understand your frustration. Some things l do and some things I let the the experts do. I'm glad I didn't attempt it. After watching them work putting the glass in the frame l was happy to pay 100 for the glass and 150 to have it installed. Done deal.

Rodney, did you have shims between the windscreen and the car body, and did you replace them? Just remember life has mountain top and valley experiences, so just get thru that valley and back on top of that mountain! I've ruined more than my share of parts.

Chuck, $250 all up , r u kidding me? Generally double the price for parts over here, that's why it's so frustrating.
I didn't even get to the shimming stage either.

I have Moss Motors about 35 minutes away from my home. I can be there and back in an hour and a half if I need something, as long as I don't mind the price. I pay a little more sometimes but I get it the same day. I've got most of my parts from moss and VB when they are on sale. Good luck getting the windshield back in !

Didn't mean it that way! I worked on cars alot when I was a little younger, sometimes I just choose to take the easy route.

As a point of clarification, Rodney, you would have been to "the shimming stage" if you were tightening down the sides of your windshield. They go between each side's uprights and the cowl.
