1980 MG MGB
I bought my 1980 MGB from my uncle who did some tinkering on it but left a lot of things disconnected or missing. After searching the forums I have been able to find where most of the hoses go except for a couple questions:

The fuel line to the charcoal canister from my engine broke off at the valve--since there are two canisters that are daisy chained can I just dab some silicone on the hole and connect the line to the other canister?

I found this hose connection but I have no idea where it goes ( Pic 2), I also found a similar sized hose connection on the coolant expansion tank--do they connect? If not where do these two ports connect to?

I think once I get these two things sorted I'll be ready to refill the fluids and get this baby up and running again. The compressor hasnt been hooked up in a long time but they did some welding to put the alternator in its place so I'm not putting it back in yet--so I know I might have some hose ports that connect to nothing right now.

Edit: I figured out the second port on the expansion tank! After looking at a lot of engine photos I was confusing the radiator hose with what appears to just be a vent so that problem is solved! Also I realize the other mystery port is also a vent. I'm going to bypass the charcoal canister in the meantime so if this is horrible please let me know!

For the connection to the charcoal can you could consider finding a short piece of PVC, drill the can hole and glue in using PVC glue. Same stuff used for sprinker systems - Lowes, Home Depot etc.

If the hose that is disconnected goes to the valve cover inlet, it should be fine to leave it open to atmosphere.

However the hole in the can need to be closed off or the ARO won't work properly.

In the second photo I don't know what that unit is (aftermarket A/C?)

In the second photo there is an open line near the valve cover inlet. Where does that go at the other end?

I know that one. It's the other end of the vapor recovery system. A rubber hose goes from there to the output of the charcoal canister, and the other end of the pipe goes to the intake.
