I am assembling my front suspension. When I attache the tie rod ends to the steering arms there is a bunch of toe out, even with the ends screwed almost all the way in. The ends are from Moss.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Rich

Rich,

Your comment, "to the hacksaw" means that you are going to shorten the thread length on your rack tie rods?

If so, I hope that you rethink this approach of no return or recourse and instead return the crap tie rod ends back to Moss.

A better alternative is to search on line for OEM replacements . .they are not that hard to find with patience or buy a set from Cecelia who has the proper 5/8-18 thread depth.

Look sharply after your own thoughts. They come unlooked for, like the morning dove upon your window sill, and, if you turn to your usual task, disappear; and you shall never find that perception again; never, I say-but perhaps years, ages, and I know not what events and worlds my lie between you and its return.

Might not another alternative be to cut some additional threads on the tie rod?

Don,
You are the voice of reason. As much as I like immediate solutions I will return these to Moss.

Thanks

the first time I rebuilt my kingpins I put one of the links on the wrong way round and this gave about 30 degrees toe out.
Took me a while to figure out what I had done wrong.

In reply to # 3501247 by Blueosprey90 Might not another alternative be to cut some additional threads on the tie rod?

It is not possible to cut the threads further down the tie Rod as most are turned undersize so they can be rolled back up to size with a thread,, it is also unsafe, the threads are rolled for a reason and that is strength.
