Does anyone have some pics of a custom center console? on my 67, I decided to make my mock up out of cardboard and then today I made the mold for the carbon fiber top. I am thinking of making the side out of my door panel material. Still looking for some ideas.

I made one, but not being very handy it's basically 3 pieces of wood stuck together. Keep showing updates though. Maybe a build log?

I made one out of 2mm aluminium - fits just under the dash and carries gauges and switches - so nowhere near as extensive as yours.

A suggestion. Make that extension, between the seats, as a box with a lid. Becomes a very handy storage space.

So I got the prototype made on the mold today and tried for fitment. Fit perfect.

I like that console in post 6!

And yours, Mike is starting to look good too!

Here's mine, pretty basic though. I want to do something along the hump to the back like Mikes

post 6 is very cool. I am not installing carpet as I won't have a roof ever on the car and will get caught in the rain for sure. So I am trying to cover as much of the tunnel as possible.

I thought you were going to make it out of wood, now I see that was the mold. Consider using the wood you made the mold out of. With the wood you already have on the car a wood centre console might be cool. Oh yeah, and don't forget to fabricate some sort of storage box and padded arm rest.

Ya I know. I wanted to teach my kids mold making and figured I had the carbon fiber anyway? Its a lot less work too. I am making the back shelf out of wood too so it may be to much wood. However it would float better?
