Hi Gents

This is about as good as it gets; apart from a few minor items.

Original colour was grey; original Victorian registration plate HVS-058; 30th August 1963

Even the rear bumper infills are correct, being painted the same as the body colour for the 1963 year.

The interior carpet and exterior mirrors are not quite pukka, though.

Cheers - GV

Very cool car. I've never seen a B without a heater. I wonder if all Bs bound for the States had them?

Hello Colin,

Early imports of the B to Oz were fully built up and included factory fitment of a Smith Heater, 3 Synch Overdrive transmission, coloured seat piping, and disc wheels.

In meeting compliance with local content, CKD Kits had none of the above, however they did come standard with the spoke wheels, which was not the case in Blighty.

For those wanting fitment of a heater, these were retro fitted by either the factory or the dealer as a Box type with a Heater Tap and an under dash Pull Cable arrangement.

Circ 1968 was when Smith Heaters became standard fitment by BMC in Oz

See photo's of example of early Box type Heater

Best Regards - GV

... carpet should be one piece loop pile, and sans external mirrors, otherwise appears period perfect as it left the factory in Sydney in 1963
