Alloy floor boards

Has anybody fitted aluminium floor boards and if so, what thickness did you use?

1961 MG MGA "Calvin"
I used 1/8" aluminum and installed it on the driver's side. Race car tech inspectors were not happy with plywood floors.

Note that it is likely to transmit a lot of heat into the cockpit from the exhaust pipe running under the left side.

18 gauge stainless bonded to the wood. Quite rigid and durable.
