Has anyone had experience with the aftermarket clutch master and slave cylinders sold by Moss?
The price is right, (master - $45, slave-$18) but I'm wondering about reliability and durability.
It's a very considerable savings over the OEM parts, (approximately $275 for the OEM pair) and I'd like to buy them if there are no reports of poor quality or short service life.

Thanks,
Pete

In 1974 when I was 18, I passed on buying a running and driving 1966 E-Type coupe for $1,500, which is what they were selling for at the time.
Fifty years later, I'm still kicking myself...

I went through two Moss aftermarket MC's on my Lizzy Midget, along with a couple remanufacturerd Lucas alternators and sport coils on my current car. I'd stick with new...longer and more satisfying warranty and return.

By the way, I am sporting a clutch slave that the DPO fit, and came off of a recreational vehicle!

I just bought a 1275 slave cylinder and it looked real solid...I noticed that it didn't have one of those retaining clips like my 948 did (so the guts don't go exploding out) but I guess you don't need one if everything is set up correctly. Not sure if the expensive ones have that retaining clip.

I bought the Moss kit of Master, slave, & flex hose for around $100 and the master was bad out of the box. Ended up with an OEM style. Makes bleeding easier too as the aftermarket reservoir is about the size of a thimble.

I just installed a new slave on my '76 and it works perfectly. Only have a couple hundred miles on it though.

They are made in China and Moss has pulled several versions for several cars a couple of times due to warranty and defects. Caveat Emptor.
