Hi all; Was going to take my car out today, and when shifting into reverse I noticed it was hard to engage. So I backed out and when attempting to shift to first the clutch petal went to the floor. She will not shift at all. Any ideas?

Need clutch bled. Did you notice any fluid on the floor board or under the car?

Could be leak in line, bad MC or bad SC. Try rebleeding til you drop and then do it some more! Easiest way is to get a friend to help you with the bleeding process.

How long since you replaced any parts to your hydraulic clutch system?

No fluid on the floor, the Master cylinder is new and I had the car out about a week ago with no issues. Have not replaced any clutch sense I had it (2 years) the prior owner replaced the clutch.

How long ago did you replace the CMC? Did you replace it or have it done?

That's my check for tomorrow. Seen no leaks, but going to go though and look it all over.

Check under the car for slave cylinder leaks...I seen many slaves blow out/leak after new master cylinder replacement & head system pressure increases.
If no leaks & fluid level ok, check the linkage.
Especially the clevis pin at the end of the master cylinder push rod.
Good Luck...

If it ain't broke, I'll fix it until it is! winking smiley

First check the oil level. If it is low then look for a leak.

Oh man, you do not want to know about my reoccurring nightmare!! I've had the engine out three times and been bleeding with the Mity Vac and Gunnson pressure bleeders for two months. Beginning to think I have a pressure plate issue. even though all the components are new.

Wayne, what's the deal about whether or not the pedal is attached?

The mechanical linkage, that actuates the hydraulic cylinder. If that's not connected, the pedal would go to the floor, with zero resistance.thumbs up

Here's where I'm at. The fluid was low in the CMC, added fluid (of course too easy) still no petal resistance. Also no signs of a leak near the slave cylinder. So I'm going to open up the cover and start looking at linkages.

Not that I have found, so far. I replenished the fluid and will keep an eye out for drips on the floor and foot well.
