If the price is right, put a Volvo engine in it. More power, the carbs & exhaust are on the correct side, and it was a common swap in the 60s.
May do that to mine. It's a '55 TF 1500 with non-original engine. I have a late TD2 1250 I can use. Not sure that I will.

We have client with an MGA/MGB B series engine. When it first arrived, the hokey conversion that was done was less than desirable but we changed a number of items including mounts and other bits making this a really nice conversion. It almost looks stock if we would be allowed to change that thermostat housing, that would be about the only change desired now. Much more drivable in traffic now.
That said, we have an N.O.S. in the crate 1250 along with a rebuildable 1250 for sale if you end up with a car lacking the correct engine.
