I did intend to restore the vehicle to good condition. The engine is in good condition, the suspension was recently fitted with all new bearings and all the mechanical and electrical parts work well. Good brakes, tires, clutch, transmission, etc. There is a brand new CD player, with aux. input. The ignition was just switched to electronic. The interior is in reasonably good shape and I have both a factory hard top and a new soft top for it.
The problem is that I just took it to my body shop to get it repainted and my painter tells me that the body is actually rusted out to a point where it really is not worth restoring. Not something we could see until the rocker panels were removed. I had thought it had just one small rust hole in the body work, but it is not so. I have just bought a "new" MGB and will sell, if I can, all the new parts and the tops, I bought for this one seperately, or better, sell it all to someone with a sound body that needs the rest of the car. The car cost $2,000, has had $3,000 of work done on it and I have $2,000 worth of new parts, waiting to be fitted. I will list all in "Parts" soon.

An MGB owner, I met at a show, recommended Gene Eash of Boswell, PA. as a good foreign car mechanic. He might be. When I visited his garage he said he could work on my vehicle, but then kept me hanging around for over a month and finally told me that he was not going to have time to work on my car as his other customers "have real cars" and that I should understand that mine is "just a toy."I'm now dealing with Import Auto Works of Indiana, PA and so far they have treated me and my car very well.
