  • Did a front brake job and a quickie paint on the wire wheels

  • First Night Home

  • Interior in good shape but quite old - future job

  • Swapped the Weber DCOE for twin SUs and new exhaust system

  • Swapped 3-sync tranny for a 4-sync unit and new clutch

  • Spin on filter adapter, pertronix breakerless, 100% renewal of engine bay hoses

  • In the stable with the 77B

  • New Mountney wheel. Now my leg doesn't hit the banjo wheel when braking!

  • Hidden stereo, vacuum gauge & voltmeter in the radio plate.

“Bart - Yellow And Naughty”
Was looking for a stable mate with contrast to my 77B Roadster. Mr. B and I just happened to find each other locally.

I bought him from a nice guy looking to pay off student loans. He was gifted the car from his father who was gifted the car from his father. It spent 30 years with the same family and was almost always garaged.

He has a HC 1.8L engine with DCOE manifold and carb setup and 3 sync tranny. Other than that he is very unmolested and unmodified. I am told it should have a 4 sync so someone did something.

The car is very rust free and in pretty good shape. The wire wheels seem true but could really use reconditioning and new rubber. I hope to delay that till next season.

No major plans other than renew all the rubber items under the hood, overhaul the carb, clean up the engine bay and wiring and make it a reliable cruiser. Then just drive it for a (long) while.

Mods - (Nov '15) Swapped in twin SU-HS4 carbs, cleaned up the electrical and engine bay, installed a new stereo (Dec '15) swapped in a used 4-sync tranny. (March '16) swapped in a Mountney stering wheel.
(Aug 16) Swapped in a LH (blue label) OD. Great mod!

Way back in another life, I had a '68 Sprite the same Pale Primrose color. I got lots of compliments on it before I crashed it and replaced the entire front clip with one from a white Midget. I sold it without respraying it. Now I wish I had it back (one of several cars I wish I still had).
