A short history:
I came into possesion of this wonderful car on 08AUG14 after a grueling trip down to North Carolina on the Greyhound. Towed her back and have since begun what I hope to be a100% restoration. The name Bridget was what the original owner called her, so I feel its fitting to keep the name that she's had for 40 years.
We (my daughter & I) acquired the car from the original owner in May 2012. The car had been sitting since 1985 in a garage in Elmhurst IL.
The original owner bought the car new in 1975. She gave us all the service/repair records which had been meticulously kept up to date.
After replacing all the fluids and putting in a fresh battery, the car started right up.
The bodywork is in good shape but there is some corrosion on the lower rails by the front wheel arches. It has been repainted at some time in the past. 19097 genuine miles. Completely original as far as we can tell. The car is a runner but will need new tires. The original tonneau cover and wheel jack are in the trunk.
Here is a list of items we replaced:
All brake lines - steel and flex
Rear brake slave cylinders
Clutch slave cylinder
Gas tank & sending unit
Exhaust downpipe (the one that runs from the manifold to the tailpipe flange joint)
Front brake calipers were rebuilt with new seals.
