Recent restoration on 1970 Midget. I completely disassembled, flipped the body and detailed the underside. Car was rust free except for on spot on one rocker which was weld repaired. 1275 engine was completely rebuilt including bored, pistons, cam and lifters, valve job. New brakes, master cyl, clutch, tires. Interior is original seats, dash and door panels which are excellent. New carpet and top. I have receipts for everything including engine work. Finished car and lost interest. Price reduced to $4700. Located in Goshen Ky just outside Louisville. 502-807-9927 Rick

The car looks great! As I already have a '68 Midget and two other cars, would you consider trading for my very nice M-B 2003 SLK230? My Midget just needs too much work to make it 'right'. I can send you photos of the SLK. It has a six speed standard transmission. Jack Kettlestrings, Sumas, WA

Gordon - Oil pressure and temp gauges temporarily installed in radio opening. I wanted to be sure I had accurate readings for startup of new engine. I have a radio but not original. Call me to discuss Midget.. Rick 502-807-9927

Dave - Check around on this site and others for a reputable shipper. Easy to get a quote but my guess is between $500 and $600. Maybe less.

Alternatively you could rent a uhaul car hauler for about $50/day and make a road trip. Call me if you want more info about the Midget.

What does it mean "Status: Restoration in progress"?
2017-03-30 16:31:08 # 41305
Comment by rick m
Edward - The restoration is 95% complete. The car drives and all lights work including turn signals. There are still some electrical bugs to be worked out. The wipers blow a fuse when plugged up and the tach doesn't work. Tach may be related to blown fuse. Aftermarket gauges are still installed so dash gauges (oil and temp) are not hooked up. No original radio but I have a new aftermarket which is suppose to fit. These are the things I can think of since it has been awhile since I quit. I do drive it up and down my road on a regular basis. All other as advertised. Rick
