Yes, and arcane though the origins are, British Standard Pipe Thread is used throughout much of Europe, even though it may be called by something else. Even in France if I buy a plumbing fitting, its a BSP thread, though described as a peculiar metric size.
1/2 x 3/8 BSPP reducing nipple on ebay UK is easy to find in various materials. Don't enter "14" (as in tpi) as its not required. Some are also labelled just as BSP, but you have to examine the description and the pic carefully as many are really BSPT.

Bill, why don't you take the gauge with sensor and securing nut and a sump plug to a plumbing supply business or to a hydraulic line manufacturer such as Pertek or ENZED they should be able to match the threads with different adaptors.
