I thought it might be useful if people had an idea what others had paid for chrome plating for parts on their T Series car. Having a ball park figure for work done elsewhere might help evaluate a particular shop's pricing. This is my experience so far:

Headlight Buckets - $400
Windscreen Frame - $450 to $550 (estimate)

Thats not out of line and it's only going to get worse with all of the shops that have shut down in the last decade.

I was quoted $1200 US for front and rear bumpers and 4 overruders forr a TF.

That was in Canada.

Had 4 smaller TF parts rechromed last year.

Grab Handle
Center Mirror Housing (no stand)
Engine Cover center strip
Engine cover side trim

I believe the total was $350-400

Wow. A set of two bumpers over riders and the hardware for a TD would cost about $525 at LBC. Granted, they are reproductions but I would think they would be fine for a T Series. If I was dealing with a very expensive classic I'd go for the originals rechromed. The only reason i'm getting the windscreen frame redone is the parts aren't available.

Sadly the Moss bumpers are junk, rusty before delivery from my experience with a set I bought for my TD a long time ago, have not heard anything good since.

Yeah, there is that. I painted the rear of my repo bumpers with POR 15 and a top coat of chassis paint. Hopefully that will give them a little more life.

Front bumper bar only, no overriders: $450
Radiator shroud w some dent removal: $750

Kind poster gave me some other GA options but they're OOB.

On eBay there are cheap replacement bumper bars for $200.
May be Moss or other lightweight and don't know if my overriders will fit.

Much of my chrome came up acceptably using Qwik-Glo as promoted by Jay Leno.
With it I'll spend much less on chrome than I thought I would.

'55 TF Grill slats ...$280.00
All 4 dash "octagon" trim pcs.....$80.00
2) windshield brackets....$90.00
Complete windshield re-chromed...$160.00
(2) gas tank straps....$80.00
gas tank "end covers"..edges only...$90.00
TF grill shroud...$250.00

I'm always concerned as to quality, but all the pieces pretty much pass the eye test. just hope the wind doesn't blow the chrome off once I get them put on the car.....I was not too concerned till I saw some or the prices that were posted on here.

I will possibly have a few more pieces once I get back to Ohio early June and see what the door handles/latches, and other items look like.
