We'll be leaving in a couple of days from Atlanta, for Gettysburg, winding our way up the backroads. About 12 B's and one Midget! Phil is hoping to meet us along the way. Is anyone planning on going? It would be great to meet some of you guys, either on the show field or at the parking lot parties. We've never been to Gettysburg, so we're both looking forward to it - the historical battlefields and the outlet malls! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

I’m still hurting, but much less and the midget is almost ready
I think there’s a good chance I’ll make the trip
I’ll certainly let you know if I’m not going meet you in Lynchburg

We'll miss TN on this trip - Carolinas, VA and on up.

I’m almost there!!
Clothes and tools packed
My spare is flat so I haven’t started loading yet and I still have to reinstall the boot gayer and carpeting on the tunnel but I think she’s ready. I have no time for a shakedown cruise so I’m just going to take it easy tomorrow.
I hope to start from Stuart Florida around 1:00 and get as far as Jaxonvile

Jack Gettysburg is great! the folks took me and my two younger brothers on a two week trip there back in 1971 for our last family trip as I was going to be a senior that year. Had a ball!!

Gettysburg is great, Chuck -- but it is nothing like it was in 1971!

I know because that was a regular family pilgrimage for us in the late 60s until about 1979. When I returned in 1996 to gather my father's cars I decided to recreate our trip up from Alexandria Virginia. The town has actually GOTTEN BETTER and the back roads are much more passable than they were. So, I believe what we have here is undeniable improvement over what was already a pretty impressive historic area. Jack Orkin, be safe and enjoy the ride!

That's great news David. The wife and I want to head out to D.C. and take in all that is out there some time soon. I remember seeing canon balls still imbedded in the houses!

Great visitor center and orientation tours now. Back in the 70's I seem to recall the tours were given by park rangers, with mixed reviews.

Yup, your right about the ranger guided tours. The old ranger we had new we were from Upper Michigan and showed us where our company was located during the battle. He really did a nice job.

12 MGs left Clayton, GA yesterday morning - 9 MGBs, 1 MGC, 1 MGF and 1 Midget. Stopped in Wilkesboro, NC for the night. No real problems, one broken fan belt (not me!). Great driving day, esp. mountains in NC and SC. Will make it to Lynchburg, TN today.

So, we're in Lynchburg, VA. Had another beautiful, cool, clear day this morning, a little warmer this afternoon. Phil "Iron Man" Burke met us this evening. Drove from Jacksonville, FL to Lynchburg, VA today!

Here is a video from the drive. (Please disregard the jabbering of the driver and navigator) Pretty neat when we were all together, looked sort of like an MG snake!
