I'm installing a brand new SU fuel pump in my 1974 MG Midget. Nowhere in my manual or my instructions does it indicate what these ports are for. I assume they are vents. But, to what do they attach, if anything? Help ASAP would be appreciated, as i I suddenly find the Midget to be my daily driver!

I didn't see mention of why there are vents, so for those who hadn't thought about it. As the diaphragm moves in an out to move the fuel the other side is moving air in and out so it has to go and come somewhere. The old pumps just have a hole, but since some pumps are mounted under the car, they decided to only allow clean, dry air to pass and of course any gas fumes had to be dealt with as time went by.
