Marshmallow test. Finished install of new aluminum radiator. Had to drill mounting holes as this Chinese one did not come pre drilled and was little worried that the radiator cap would dent my hood when closed. Set a marshmallow on top radiator cap and slowly closed hood. Put a drop of grease on top so it would show on hood if it touched. Full marshmallow did touch hood, but sliced it in half and it cleared smiling smiley

Michael,

I've always used playdough or silly puddy, but now I have a use for all of those marshmallows leftover from the holidays. smileys with beer Also, never thought of the grease on top idea--very cool for showing precisely where on the sloping bonnet the contact point is (or would be) of [x] component. This is going to be useful when finishing up the DIY supercharger project.

Thanks for posting!

Joel

Looks good Mike! I see the cap is set back from the original spot. Reason being? Only about 2 1/2 months till driving season!!

Hello Chuck, it's same distance back, looks longer because not same taper as original. See you on the road soon!

Little Red is wintering down in lower Wisconsin now, recovering after that slave cylinder debacle. I'll be driving her home as soon as the winter weather breaks, maybe in a couple months. I'll get a hold of you and drive down for lunch. I heard there's a great burger place by you. Name escapes me at the present.

Just bought about a week ago. It needs a little bit of work, but I love it! 1977 MG Midget. My baby. Needing all the help I can get. All the old school mechanics are gone.
