Purchased Another Midget, 1970 This Time.

Initial assessment: Engine is locked up. I found no hardware. Oil pan is removed. Everything seems to be there except; radio console, glove box, 1 wiper Brake pedal goes to the floor, and oil on the driver's floor. Interior is not original but will work ok. Odometer reads 91139. Tires are good, but LF goes flat in 8 hrs. There is a good spare. Battery is disconnected. The condition of all the wiring and switches is unknown. Dash idiot lights are broken. Gauges seem ok. Top is no good...

Me in my painting gear

I painted the outside panels on Sat. 9/21. I wasn't very happy with it as I had way too much orange peel. I went to a local body shop to get advice and found that I wasn't using quite enough air pressure, was using too wide a spray pattern and was trying to move too fast. I wet-sanded the outside surfaces again and repainted. Turns out he was exactly right. I turned out very well. New Paint

I began the process of rebuilding this 1978 Midget. It was already in pieces. I began in May 2013. The body had some rust issues: rt A-post, rt and lft rear door frame lower, rt front rocker. I replaced these areas with replacement pieces from VB and by cutting out rust and filling the area in with new metal. I stripped the paint from the fenders, doors, hood and trunk lid; dents were filled and primered. I made some modifications: I moved the rt attaching support of the radiator out 3" to i...
