I have now completed course 101 on SU carbs, and know that they are not to be feared! Simple carb to rebuild, only if needed. But very hard to get air cleaners on and off! I found an extra set also to rebuild. Found out that the dizzy gear on my distributor was 180 degrees out on the 1958 with the 1967 MGB engine in it. Go figure, Tried to time it and it keep coming up 180 out! So just switch plug wires for time being, The big flat screw holding the dist. dizzy gear in, will not come out ...

Over the past 50 years, I have owned many cars, starting with a used 1957 Chevy. then on to a brand new 1964 Corvette, a 3 cylinder Saab, that would not go up the mountain to Gold Hill Colorado, a TR3, that I drove on my move to Boulder Co., the wiring burned up one night on route 6 going to Colorado from Johnson City NY, while I was listing to the radio on a dark night, everything went black at 50 mile per hour, then fire under the dash! 2 week delay in Oil City, PA to get it fixed, then when ...
