Changed out the front calipers, rotors, and pads and rear cylinders and pads - drums appeared new so I cleaned them and left them as they were. Bleeding out the system was a challenge. I couldn't get a firm pedal no matter what (one man brake bleeding method). After sleeping on it, I went out today and discovered that while I thought I was keeping the MC topped off, I was actually pumping all of the fluid out between refills. This morning I connected up the bleeder jar again (placing it on a bucket to keep the fluid in the hose above the bleeder) and topped off the MC after about 3 or 4 pumps. To my amazement, I had a firm pedal after the first try. Life is good!
