Hello Thierry. It is attached directly to the bottom of the tank between the tank and the fuel line going forward.

Does the adaptor contain a non return valve, so that either the electronic pump or the SU can draw fuel from the tank?

No it does not have a non return valve since I run the pumps in series not parallel.

One thing we should consider when using electric fuel pumps is the fitment of an inertia cutoff switch, to stop the pump(s) in the event of an impact.
On previous projects, namely a TR2 and a Sprite, I fitted inertia switches, sourced from eBay and having come from a Landrover. Easy to fit under the dash, wired in to the pump electrical supply.

I don't know what modern cars use, any one any knowledge on these?
