I don’t know if the shift knob and hand brake handle are a period accessory, or a home made hobbyist thing, They match the steering wheel very well, but the wheel has no markings I could find.

The plastic sun visor comes within a couple inches of the steering wheel. The rear view mirror has a little light but I don’t see a door switch or any other way to turn it or the other interior lights on.

The gas gauge is cute. Half is 1/2 but full is 4/4?

So.., what’s wrong with it? There are simply no door or trunk seals. The bodywork is pretty amateur in places, but it has survived since the 60’s when it was done... so I don’t think the bondo is about to fall off. It doesn’t run, the wiring looks hacked, and there are no brakes. The tires are ready to pop. The fancy Borranis need a good polishing.

The good... from 20ft away it’s pretty. The seats and doors were redone at some point and are not bad. I’m not afraid of it. It’s only done 120 miles since last oil change (in 2004).

John was this the one that was at auction and discussed here about a month ago? Or is this a new find altogether ? I like it. Any Arnolt is worth attention in my book. Thanks for the pics.

In 1953 the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan displayed “Ten Automobiles” that were “selected primarily for their excellence as works of art”. One of them is an Arnolt MG! Here’s the exhibition catalog:

https://www.moma.org/documents/moma_catalogue_2422_300185059.pdf

Interestingly, the car appears to be the Turin prototype. Production cars had the rear fender haunch start on the door, but the prototype starts after the door. With the exception of the Studebaker, the Arnolt is the most affordable car remaining of the ten. The most expensive is the Cunningham C-3 which is a $1M+ car.
