Hallo
after printing a new old style CJR3 case for my TA, i want first draw a colored circuit.
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=33778&p=292574#p292574

20 years ago i rewired my Ford based Spartan. Never done it in the last 20 years, so it isn t easy for me.

The electric in the car works perfect, but the wires go in and out, fuses are behind the dashboard, so if something doesn t work i dont know where to search.

I want the old style for the electric when i open the bonnet, in the moment you see fuses, relays and the lucase 340.
The new case is ready to install.

I learned a little bit with Tinycad now, i am able to draw 2 colored wires.

I hope that i am able to draw the circuit completly, i will upload it here, so other people can use it too.
On the cellphone you have it everyware.

Has someone done it before ????

In the moment it is difficult for me to understand the ignition coil with ignition lock like this one here

https://picclick.de/Panzerz%C3%BCndspule-12-Volt-von-Bosch-Neu-aus-altem-264011670018.html

in the old circuit paper it is on the right side !

Here my first step of drawing, so you see what i want to do

Sorry for my bad english, School is 40 years ago, and in my job i don t speek English, with the TA it will be better in a few month

so i go to the car and take some picures,
a little chaos in color

it is good to have the relays and fuses, but it should be clearly so that everyone with the plan can find a mistake.
javascript:phorumShowAttachForm();
i hope to find most wires on the paper and the car with the pictures before take it off

i want to add the length and thickness of the wires too,
i think 0,75m2 is enough from the switch to the relay , from the relay to the lamp ??

here some more pictures
grrr

some wire a have found on the circuit plan, but not all in the moment.

i will change the relay and fuse to something like this here:
KFZ-Relais 12V - 30A 1x Schließerkontakt (mit Haltefahne) + Sicherung 30A

It will be much easier, it saves wires and mess

so i have to work now with tinycad ;-)

so the problem in the moment is the special coil

http://www.networksvolvoniacs.org/index.php/123igniton_-_Relaisschaltung_f%C3%BCr_Panzerz%C3%BCndspule

it seems to be the same kind

the old dashboard key switch is out off order, i have no key for it

first step will be to change the wires to the regulator and the ignition coil

The assignment of the ignition lock is not clear to me yet

on negativ ground cars all red cabel is positiv
and on positiv ground cars ?

so at the ignition lock we have 3 red wires, are they + and the black is -
the brown wire goes to the pressure switch ???

i think i have to cut off the black insulating tape to see the wires

anybody here with the same loricated ignition cable ??

the jpg is for tinycad

On these cars the primary "Live" wiring is usually brown, and other live circuits can be red or even other colours. The "Earth" wiring is usually black. It doesn't matter if the car is Positive Earth or Negative Earth, the wiring colour is the same.

so
the ta is earth +
the battery + goes to the car body

so the wire is black ( is difficult for me in the moment ) ?

"Live" wiring is usually brown = if the key is turn on ??

red wire = always power ?

the wire from the regulator to the key switch should be 3mm2 ?
this wire change the color from the regulator to the keyswitch from brown-blue to red

i don t knor in the moment the purple wire on the regulator ???

the black green on the regulator is new from me for the cooler fan, regulation by sensor , i will change the color and put it to the wire circuit picture

Franz,
Yes I redid my color scheme. Here it is under "PDF"
I left a diagram without a caption under "Paint"
File I pasted under "Word" and I added the captions.
This one is the whole file.
I also made files for the front, the back and the dashboard.
The files "PDF" are included in my Iphone this way, I always have them on me in case ....
Sincerely, Thierry de l'Ardèche, South of France

What is the number on your ignition switch. Should be MRN??. Keys are available for £3.00 on eBay. Just order the correct number. I have seen new barrels and keys at auto-jumbles in the UK so they are available.

I will send you my article on wiring.

Hallo Tim
you mean the old original one on the dashboard ?

I have no key for it in the moment,
i think they take it off the circuit in the 80, when the car came to Germany and get the new
special coil, for this i have one key, and one new from the bay

In other forum they said it is for the incurance, Volvo has this kind some days, in my owner paper of the car, is no mark for this special coil so i can change to a regular coil like lucas 12, i can get it from moss

is it easy to get off the old switch from the dash to test the function?

First i only want to change the sight of the new regulator to the old style, but i see it is better to make a new wiring behind the dash, the wires aren t expensive...

the relay i will change to relay-fuse parts

behind the dash it should be like my new toolbox ;-)

Hallo
ad Thierry SUCHIER

you have a good plan, easy to read because in color
you have a list of wire diameter ?

i decide to throw away the special ignition coil, i orderd a new key for the original switch, makes it much easyer

i will buy the wires individually

perhaps i take something like this here to have a secure wiring in the car

ttps://www.ebay.de/itm/Auto-Sicherungskasten-Halter-Basis-Relais-Steckdose-Universal/302437460493?_trkparms=aid%3D333200%26algo%3DCOMP.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D56582%26meid%3Ddcc277f6b6884255a1b85b39c1a0fdf0%26pid%3D100008%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D11%26sd%3D283409676599%26itm%3D302437460493&_trksid=p2047675.c100008.m2219

I have had very good experiences with crimped connections

Hello Franz,
I will prepare a list this afternoon. From memory, there is the brown wire n ° 33 + the red between the starter and the ignition switch + the blue brown n ° 36 which are in 6²

hallo all together
from the battery in the back a 16mm2 wire
goes to emergency swith in the foot well left side
from there to a distribution point on the left front side of the toolbox
from this point there are 2 wires
one to the regulator about 6mm2 and
one to the dashboard, there is a fuse box with 8 ? fuses and 3 relay ,
one relay for the light, one for the fog lamp and one for ? ( i cant see the cour on the picture, i have to make a new one )

i think the emergency out is ok, not the best position , but ok
the distribution point is ok,, it is a realy goot part easy to reach.
from there xmm2 to the starter switch right side of the distribution point, is black in the moment

from the distribution point i will make it new.
it is a positiv earth car, so brown will be the right colour ?!

6mm2 to the new regulator box with lucas 340 wires in brown
6mm2 to the relay fuse box, perhaps two of them in brown

the old key switch on the dash panel, not in use in the moment, i will revive it, new keys are orderd

is it better to take a relay , so i can take a 1mm2 wire for the key switch, so only a control line switch fuse box...
also for the light ... so i can take 1mm2 wires

i have found the workshop manual, so i will read there a little bit.

two problems i am thinking about

ich möchte das dash panel einfach entfernen können, dazu müssten die Kabel mit einem adapter versehen werden was einfach ist,
the pull starter and the choke wire i cant take away easy

there are warning light switch and direction switch under the dashborad, install in the 80s

if i change the position of both parts it will be easy and possible

but both switch are horrible

somebody idea
