i am rebuilding a famous BMC 1800B series diesel engine, so i check the bore ovalisation with the good tool.
i have measured longitudinally, perpendicularly and at the middle of each 45 degrees so 4 points check all the deep of each bore.
1st piston bore have higher wear longitudinally, the maximum diameter i find is 80.44mm = 3.1669" and the minimum diameter i find in this same bore is 80.29mm = 3.1610"
so the maximum difference is 0.15mm = 0.0059"
standard piston are 3.1595" = 80.251 mm
Do you think i need to rebore the cylinders with oversize 0.020" ?
thanks by advance
