Thank you Jack!

A man could spend some serious time (and $$) "de-flowering" a beautiful lady like that! A bouquet a day keeps the ..... away. I'm talking about buying her flowers you dirty minded MG people!!! tongue sticking out smiley

Do I qualify as a "sexist" now??? I'm really trying to accomplish something new and exciting in my life. I want to be sure I qualify for the satisfaction of the "Me Too" movement!! smileys with beer YOU go girls!!! LMAO...

I was the Parts Manager in 78-79. Interesting place to work. Left to go back to school.

My 1970 Midget. At my buddy's house in Wayne, PA. That's his Chevy. Bought the Midget new at PhilPenn Motors in Bryn Mawr, PA. They are still in business as mainly a Jaguar dealer.

Outback Australia, 1971, summer, on the way to Ayres Rock in central Australia, in Holden panel van which I traded in on my first MGB. It was a 1969 with OD, and I paid AUD$2,200.00. I am on the right.

My personal exposure to British cars 1967 when I bought a 1961 Austin Mini Cooper (997cc) while in college. I joined the Ohio State University Sports Car Club which put on gymkhanas (now called autocrosses) several times a year. Pictures below show me next to my car with the "PIG" painted on by other club members as a joke (we used white liquid shoe polish with the sponge-like applicator on top of the bottle.) There is an MGB lurking in the shadows. These gymkhanas were attended by sports car enthusiasts from around central Ohio, and there were a lot of minis. Note the other cars in some of these pics.

I'll post some pics form the same era races also.

Here's a few more. These are from the 1969 US Grand Prix at Watkins Glen.
1) #1 Lotus Ford being driven by reigning world champion Graham Hill.
2) Graham Hill's Lotus Ford being driven from the paddock to the starting area. Crowd control was nicely relaxed in that era once you bought a Paddock Pass.
3) Jackie Oliver's BRM powered by a Brabham V12 engine.
4) Jackie Stewart in his Matra Ford leads race winner Jochen Rindt in a Lotus Ford.

I have a few more interesting photos from the era to post tomorrow.
