Does anyone know where I can get some of the narrow, smaller clips for the steering gaiter, preferably the type shown in the pic? I tried two suppliers so far and all they can offer me are these—which are too wide and too small a diameter, and only just fit round the track rod. I'm not sure why they sell them.

Please don't suggest cable ties. I know they work but I don't want them.

Hi John,

just go to Google and search for "Schlauchschelle schmal". You'll find a lot of suppliers.

Too late! I've never had anyone crawl under my MGA's to take a look!

John, that clamp appears to be very similar to those used on fuel injection hoses; see attached links:

Scarborough Faire shows them in their catalog as their Part No. J27 and J28.

I sourced skinny Jubilee clips which worked well. If you are searching for originality I can send you the originals that I removed.

Cheers

Dave

Thanks for the replies from everyone.

I am searching for originality, so I would very much like to take Dave up on his very generous offer—if he hasn't reconsidered yet. When I looked online a year or so back, some of the suppliers seemed to be offering the correct clips. So I cut my originals off the old steering rack gaiters because they seemed seized. I then find that I'm being offered poor substitutes that don't fit. I'm now kicking myself that I didn't persevere in removing my old ones.

Dave, I'll PM you.

Tie wraps suck. You can't get them tight enough to retain the oil.
