My 58's SU fuel pump came with a fabric wrapper around it which I am guessing was for protection and noise suppression. First time I have seen this and am wondering if originally there were bands of some sort holding it in place?

Thanks for your knowledge base!

Bob,

The covering is not fabric, but a rubber boot. I still have the original issue rubber boot on my 1600 SU pump. It just slides over the pump. No clamps to my knowledge.

Note the text on the boot instructing the owner to position the boot noting also the orientation. Don

Thanks Don, I am guessing (not) that the fuel leak in the pump has deteriorated mine to the point of it feeling fabric. Really appreciate the pictures on how it should be placed and the no clamp information!

Bruce,

The only source that I am aware of for the SU fuel pump rubber boot is Anglo Parts.
