I purchased this photo off Ebay just because I love how this car looks. Very manly and muscular in an understated way. I love the low roll bar, and yes I know it is not that safe. It almost make me want to abandon my wide body SCCA MGB project and build a vintage version. I do have a tub....

This is a great period photo. Vintage in every way. first of all, black and white, then fat tires bulging on the rims, deleted side door moulding to make room for the oversize numbers and circle(real paint), Cibie lights for some endurance racing no doubt, the requisite Castrol and STP stickers. Looks like the track was new too. Check out mounds of earth in the background and no sign of a guard rail. Car does look boss.

That picture was taken at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1970, Logan Blackburn and Merle Brennan driving. That looks like the sandbank at the Hairpin.

I talked to someone yesterday about a Logan Blackburn SCCA championship winning car for sale. I met Logan at runoffs in mid-late 80s, he liked our Team Moon Racing hats, and I proudly gave him one, well it is catchy logo smiling smiley

Yes Scott Brown owns it now, and it is back in Huffakerville now.

Hap:

How much are they asking for the Blackburn MGB? (No, I am not in the market! Just curious.)

I guess I'm new school. I like them with flares. Nothing wrong with the stock fenders but for racing, I like the flares.

Dave, I have no idea. Les Canaday, the vintage Datsun guy was who called me, and told me about it, I suggested he start a thread here about.

Thank you Joe - I like my cars as close to perfect as I can. #9 should be back from paint this week... burned a hole in the top of the flare trying a new tire last year. Back to the Hoosier biasplys.
