V8 coil and tachometer feed

Hi can anyone help on the subject of feeding the b tachometer from the V8 electronic distributor and coil to get the feed to operate it ?

There's some stuff out there on it. The trick is using an adjustable potentiometer to modulate the inbound pulses.

The potentiometer can be bought from Amazon.

There are a lot of dead links out there, but the above ones work. For more info, google "mgexp.com V8 tachometer" or "mgb V8 tachometer".

I'm not sure if it is in the BritishV8 article above, but one piece of advice I saw somewhere was to wire the potentiometer up so that it was outside the casing of the tach so that you could adjust it as needed.

Finally, I think there are electronic widgets you can buy from Summit or Speedway that are similar to the speedo or fuel gauge widgets that adapt the incoming signal to your tachometer.

I gave up trying to mod mine with diodes as not that capable
If you google there is a guy in the UK who will adapt it for appx £100
