What happened is that I had the written instructions from the Atlanta group that said they did not use the paper gasket, just red rtv. When I took the unit apart sure enough red RTV. So I put it together with no paper gasket, just RTV. (This rear end was obviously overhauled when the car was restored). Much later, cleaning up the area after I installed the rear end, I discovered that they had used BOTH RTV and a paper gasket. I am pretty sure that is the reason for the whine.

I have had a couple of inquiries but so far no purchasers.
