Rick -- Sweet looking car. Couple of questions. Do you have the seat head rests? The car will not pass inspection in MD without them. Any mods to the engine -- like de-smogging? You didn't mention anything so I assume it's still has standard ignition and a single Stromberg carb? To the best of your knowledge, are all body components original? Glenn

Glenn, thanks! The 4th picture shows the seat head rest, so yes I do. A previous owner removed a pump (either a air pump or de-smogging pump) not sure what it was, and gave it to me when purchased. I never put it on, since it runs well without whatever it is. Yes, standard ignition and the Stromberg carb. I believe all body components are original. I've not had to do any body work. I've replaced the water pump, added the chrome exhaust extension, replaced old worn hose clamps, replaced spark plugs, wires, rotor cap and rotor, installed Chrome Valve Cover Thumb nuts, replaced Thermostat and Heat Temperature Sensor. Other than that, just had fun with it over the years. If you need more information, let me know. Replaced Heat Temperature Sensor

Tks Rick -- ok... so I know you're not the original owner -- are you pretty sure the mileage is original ,,, not 143K? Transmission does NOT have overdrive -- do I have that right? Original "points/rotor" ignition right? -- not converted to electronic? Any issue with the wire wheels -- do you have to take the car some place special? And where id Kent Ohio -- near Columbus? I'm In Maryland so I think you're about 7 hours away.

Glenn, based on my research on the internet when I purchased in 2004 I pretty sure the mileage is accurate to my knowledge. I found records on the web for 2 of the 3 prior owners before me. When I purchased it was 42,003 and I put 1,780 miles since then. So the mileage listed is correct at 43,783 miles. I don't think there was any tampering with the odometer. No overdrive, just 4 speed manual. I changed/replaced spark plugs, wires, rotor cap and rotor and points but did not convert to electronic. No issues with wire wheels, other than needing cleaned, which is a bear. I've not taken car to any where special, since it has run well or it was work I knew how to do. Kent Ohio is about 20 miles east of Akron Oh and south east of Cleveland Oh. No where close to Columbus. Yeah, your probably right about the 7 hours away.

Tks Rick, Yea, My sister lives in Saline Michigan so I've done that trip on the Ohio Turnpike more than a few times.. probably about 6 to 6.5 hrs. Appreciate the back story on the car. I like it a lot.. I had to stop my wife from throwing out all our old cassettes... I actually still have a player in my old Takoma Pickup. So good to know I could still play if I moved forward to buy this car. Has anyone contacted you about using "carchex" to go over the car and provide an assessment? Obviously a perspective buyer pays but you would get a copy of the report as well. That might be useful for another perspective buyer if the first sale doesn't go.

Hi Glenn, Yeah, mapquest indicated about 5.5 hours, probably without breaks.Until you mentioned, I never heard of carchex. Looking at their site, they do a very extensive inspection of the car, which would help any perspective buyer in their decision. I have no problem allowing it to be done, if that is something you want.

Yea -- carchex was developed really for just this sort of thing -- buying a car long-distance. Now -- it's logical and expected that they will detail all the good points as well as not so good so that the buyer is informed but I'm told it's 100% agnostic. Meaning they make recommendation as to cost/value. I assume compressions checks, oil leaks... tire wear, rust...etc. would be part of the analysis. Let me contact them and see what they say. My take is that if one is buying a very expensive car -- say $100K this makes a lot of sense. No idea what the cost is. BTW -- if you want to get out of the MG site my e-mail is Glenn

Still admiring this car. Certainly seems like a nice ride. To be honest I'm surprised it still available.
