Thanks for all you good words. They are much appreciated. I am on the tail end of a month-long journey -car on blocks- that ended up to be a failed #3 rod bearing. I developed a loud tapping noise at 6000 miles. After upgrading cam and lifters, then finding and replacing two valve retainer caps defective, I finally diagnosed the culprit. Once I get the engine back in the car I'll get a few more pics to post.

I've been back on the road now for almost three weeks and running very fine. I am now starting work on an upgrade to the MGB clutch system for the MGA. Found the hard-to-come-by early MGB 3-synchro gearbox front cover and matching lever arm at a friend's place in Prescott Valley, AZ. Once I get the "B" flywheel and clutch plate I'll be good to go!
