“Old Yellow”
PRICE REDUCED!! I obtained this 77 B in exchange for doing some sales and marketing work for friend, restoration shop owner and fellow car guy. Once I got it home, I charged the 10 year old battery that came in it, poured 2 small funnels full of gas into the original ZS carb and believe it or not the thing actually ran! I was amazed! Thus began the restoration of "Old Yellow". The car had been off the road and stored indoors for several years but previous owner's bad repairs and the Tin Worms had already done their damage. A Virginia Inspection Sticker from 2004 shows how long it had been dormant. I pulled out the badly deteriorated carpet and interior, removed the engine and transmission and completed a thorough tear down to a rolling shell with a cleaned, de-greased and rattle can primed body. After trying several local paint and body guys without finding somebody who wanted to work with me on the project, I decided to send the car to, a restoration shop in Downingtown Pa., which is now out of business. Instead of patching the several small rust holes in the floors, we installed new "Heritage" floor panels on both sides and in the boot. Front Fenders are new aftermarket parts. The poorly done dog leg patches were redone properly and the body was mounted on a rotisserie for complete water born abrasive blasting down to bare metal. Three coats of epoxy primer were applied to all surfaces with a minimal amount of filler then the car was painted in single stage Valspar HS Polyurethane 840 Topcoat, in "Chartreuse" the original factory color. I have about a Pint of the paint which will be provided to the ultimate buyer. Factory Rostyle Wheels are also repainted. I got the car back home and began the process of reassembly. The engine that came in the car has been completely rebuilt and a mild cam has been added by my friends at GAuto. I installed a resealed 4 speed trans. Front and rear suspensions have been completely addressed with rebuilt King Pins, new bushings, lowering springs up front and lowering blocks in the rear, refinished and detailed cross-members, A-arms and sway bars, new Brake rotors and rebuilt calipers, resurfaced drums plus all new hoses, shoes and hardware. Additional work includes installation of a pair of recovered, 70-72 black vinyl seats, new door panels, dash cover and new black carpeting. A NOS Amco Top with rear Zipper was found on eBay which I had a local pro install. I've also gone ahead and touched up the paint and finished the assembly of "Old Yellow". I've been driving this car since Spring of 2016 and have now put just over 1000 miles on it. Additional updates include installation of a polished Tourist Trophy Stainless Exhaust, a brand new pair of SU HS4 Carbs with Moss Cold Air Intake, K&N Filter and a factory pre-1975 exhaust manifold, new SU Fuel Pump and a new powder coated fuel tank with new sending unit. I installed a new Sears Gold Battery and have chased down all electric issues, all lights, gauges, horns and switches function as designed. I added a pair of new Orange Fog Lights below the front bumper using factory mounting points. I completely refinished the "Rubber Bumpers", as I have done on several other pairs, including dismantling of the inner steel structure, rust removal of all parts and reassembly with all new rivets. I am confident in the cars performance and have decided that now is the time to let it go to a new owner. So if you are looking for a reliable, affordable classic car that will bring compliments whenever driven come see and drive this car while you can. Asking $12999. The car is stored at my garage in Leonardo, NJ 07737. I have hundreds of photos of the restoration and all receipts for parts and services will be shown to interested parties. Please feel free to call, 732-778-3274 with any questions, to request detailed photos and make an appointment to see this great 1977 MGB while you can. Thanks for reading about my car and good luck in finding a nicer Late MGB. Bill Miller Car Finder LLC. Since this affliction has taken hold of me I am also willing to consider partial trades for this car. Do you have a Chrome Bumper MGB Roadster or GT in need of work that you realize you will never have time or skills to address? Call me to discuss your project and mine, maybe we can come to a mutually beneficial deal!
