Purchased as an American import through MG Motors SA as l/h drive vehicle.Vehicle had been left in a San Francisco crash shop for a number of years but the owner never returned to organise repairs. Apparently he was in the Navy. I wonder what happened to him?
Converted to r/h drive by owner in 3 months. Car proved dissapointing in performance with all the smog gear on, so car was taken off road for a full refurbishment and performance update - using only parts available at the time.
Car was painted Maranello red (the closest I will get to owning a Ferrari) Car is lowered to just below the pre 1975 ride height with .750 anti roll bar added at the front and tube shocks at the rear. Performance 15x6 mag wheels fitted.
Engine is fully rebuilt (with all smog gear removed) fitted with larger valves, hotter cam profile, ported and polished with HS4 SU carbs fitted, and has a lightened flywheel. Oil cooler fitted along with elecric after market fan. Runs a lot better and the mileage is better than before! Has a Jeff Schlemmer distributor fitted and has made a huge difference to the performance.
All work (except for cover) completed by owner in 11 months (lots of sleepless nights)
Will never sell it but still working on various 'improvements'.

Home made i'm afraid. Can send you the dimensions if you want, but you
can buy commercial racks in Australia, but not specifically for MG, and
it's probably the same for where you are. Certainly makes it easier to
work on.
