Wow! This car has an Aston Martin like look. Hmmm. I am re-thinking my own restoration.

Hey Norm, I Love thoses wheels, can i get some more info on them? Who makes them? Did you have to modify the axles or bolt holes or do they fit on stock? Also did you do any body modifications to it, the car looks longer in the pictures.

Very classy and frankly inspiring. I'd give it a 10 but then what would be left? There must be something! Can we see under the bonnet? Nice work Norm!

Beautifull color, like the B without overriders.

Again my rating but now with comment. I've stuck on a 9 because there's no picture from under the bonnet. When that looks just as good as the exterior I'm short of points. A wunderful looking car that gives this small car the looks of a highclass executive sportscar. I wonder Norm if you used an extra coat of clearpaint. There's a lot of "dept" in the paint. Greetings from the Netherlands to you all!!

Nice car. Are you familiar with the British TV restoration called "MG is Born"? Very similar color

Thanks for all the great comments! It is very rewarding to know that others like the look also. I did a complete ground up restoration on this car to bring this MGB back from "barn find" as found. This was the first car I've ever restored and couldn't have done it without a lot of help from folks on this site.

To answer some of the questions:

Ethan: The wheels are somewhat rare and are very similar to wheels offered by the MGOC in England which were made by TSW. There are no body modifications other than shaving the side markers.. The car looking longer is an optical illusion in that pic.
Mark / Peter: The engine bay is super clean too. The undercarriage is even coated with a tintable bedliner material made by SEM which is tinted the same color as the car. There are 2 coats of PPG clear coat on the car.
Wayne: I love the "MG is Born" series and have a Mark Evans signed copy of the DVD It was one of the cars that inspired my restoration.

This is one of the nicest non original colors I've seen on a MGB. I just might have to reconsider sticking to originality on my black MGBGT after seeing Norm's B.

This car is almost perfect.
Need to replace the rear lenses to amber and red, like the originals in the UK. In fact you
may only need to replace the top portion from red to amber.
Replace the front lenses from amber and clear to clear only. the car will look wider and
cleaner
Lower the car a bit, front and back 1 inch
Competition springs will do. Shorten the gear shifter by 2.5 inches and use the first MGB
knob , the ball, instead of the newer one.
Replace the wipers with chrome ones as opposed to black.
You are right about the wheels, the TSWs are the best looking ones.
Removing the sides markers and the bumperettes does wonders for the looks.

Stunning color on this car. It has a very tight look. Congrats! You're my #1 choice.

I've been sitting on a 73 project for 15 years waiting for some motivation to go ahead
with the project, your car may do just that. I would really liked to see more pictures,
still very nice.

This is likely the look the orginal designers had in mind...
...then the insurance companies and government get involved and add their touches... like big black beautiful bumpers and lots of lights...
Comment by Tom Cornelius at 2013-03-06 14:39:43
Hi Norm, where did you get the shift knob? My steering wheel is a darker wood and your shift knob looks like a good match.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom, it was either Moss or Vicky B. Moss I believe.. You could call them and ask - they
are quite helpful.
