Austin A90 Atlantic & an Idiot. #1

Thought I'd share this with you, after reading about the metropolitan in the long grass on another thread.

Few years ago, I saw an Austin A90 Atlantic lying in an apple orchard, surrounded by long grass.
The orchard was in someones garden.
Jeeeezzzz, I thought, I'd like that car, I wonder if I can get it for next to nothing.
I walked up the path, and knocked on the door.
The houseowner opened the door and I said, "I saw the A90 Atlantic in the garden, and I have one at home that I need to find a few spares for, would you sell that to me to use for spares please to keep mine going"?

The owner looked at me and said "Oh right, as there are only 9 left in the country (and then proceeded to tell me where each one was), which one is yours?????

I looked at him sheepishly and he looked at me as if to say "Ha you've been caught out". I turned round, thanked him and walked down the path feeling about 6 inches tall !!
