I don't know how far you want to take it, but here's a nice example of some finishing details.

http://www.britishv8.org/Other/ChrisPlakorus.htm

Anti-tramp bars on the rear axle were a popular choice. Also, you had to remove a rubber plug next to the accelerator to change the left rear plug. The electric fuel pump was mounted directly above the right muffler............always thought that was a dumb choice. You might consider putting a fuel pump cut-out switch inside the locking center console. I don't recall if the Alpine came standard with power brakes, but the Tiger needs them. (I like your idea of putting disks on the rear)

Battery goes in the trunk, and there was a fiberglass liner + drain line to remove any acid spills. Rubber lined gas tanks in each fender with cross-over pipe to connect.

Looking forward to progress pics when available. Have fun!

Thanks Karl, I'll do that. You're probably way ahead of me here, but there was also a front torsion bar to stiffen the Alpine suspension. Mine always plowed a bit entering sharp corners but that was easily overcome with a bit of throttle steer.

We got the sunbeam painted and where doing the first runs and we lost oil pressure . We have a 9 qt oil pan so we never really got it to oil temp so when we did it plumeted . The drive gear on the after market one wire distributor was about a 1/2 inch to short . So we set it aside and Tom took his swallow doretti . And I took the mgb F . Tom's swallow got best oddball car and did a 14.06 in the drag . i place 19th overall and did a 15.2 in the drag race . Next year for the sunbeam we have a distributor a 1985 only 302 mustang coming from conneticut to our local Napa store .

I saw the Poster for the Garlitts museum in the pictures. I well remember watching Don at the Santa Pod drag raceway in the 70's.

Thanks for the update, Karl. At least you'll have an excellent start on next year's entry, but perhaps by then you'll have another creative idea as well. Anyway, it was fun to follow your project and I look forward to next year.

Take care,
