My 91 GMC 4X4 pickup plow truck has a 305 700R4 in it and after 20 years of abuse is becoming more gutless on a daily basis.

I also have a 94, same truck with a targetmaster 350 with the next generation injection and transmission, but the transmission shifts hard...before I start into some transplanting, can I take the later 350 with its injection and put it in front of my existing 700R4 or....

What all do I need to change in the way of computer and wiring and so on as well?

I haven't done one of these in a while.

Might investigate how the bits are balanced. I thought about putting a 3.x in my 86 Jeep that had a 2.8 gone bad but found that there were difference in how the pieces were balanced at the factory...assembly balanced or individually balanced, and the flexplates for the conversion weren't compatible with what I had. Don't remember exactly what it was, but it was enough to halt the project for a time.

Then the whole thing went to the junkyard when i found I couldn't legally put a later engine in the Jeep...because they were EFI and the Jeep was carbureted and I'd have to update more than I wanted to and so on and on and on.
